Submitting an Absentee Ballot for the Upcoming Election
All New Yorkers can vote by mail in the June 23, 2020 election, per an Executive Order from Governor Cuomo, by requesting an absentee ballot. Voters may complete and return the application to receive their ballot. We encourage you to vote by mail, if you can, to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and ensure that in-person voting is available to those who truly need it.

Boots, Bluetooth Speakers & Volunteers Needed for New York City Emergency Medical Sites
One of Central’s members is collecting boots, warm socks, and bluetooth speakers to aid medical workers and on-site volunteers at the Samaritan’s Purse* emergency field hospital in Central Park. Additionally, as medical facilities open to house more patients, volunteers are needed to help with preparation.

Coronavirus Update: Important News from Central Synagogue
Pikuach Nefesh, the principle of “saving a life,” is paramount in our tradition. It overrides all other laws including the observance of Shabbat. With the explosion of COVID-19 cases in New York, it is no exaggeration to say that our response may be a matter of life or death. We have been consulting with some of the leading health institutions in our city, and they have been clear that one of the most important goals is to help “flatten the curve,” to slow down the spread of the virus through social distancing and lessen the potential for overburdening our city and nation's healthcare system.
